Receiving BEIDOU, GALILEO and GPS signals with MATLAB® and R&S®IQR, R&S®TSMW - 1MA203

Since BEIDOU receivers are not yet wide spread in the market, this MATLAB based application can be used to analyze and process BEIDOU signals. The free application enables and demonstrates remote operation of Rohde & Schwarz instruments using SCPI commands and attribute based drivers directly out of MATLAB scripts and functions.  View application note here

Recording and Playing Back the GPS RF Spectrum

A GPS L1-frequency signal is recorded using a receiver such as an R&S TSMW or an R&S FSV. Then the I/Q data is stored via the digital I/Q interface on an R&S IQR device. Playback is realized using an R&S SMBV signal generator that is also connected to an R&S IQR via a digital I/Q interface.  View application note here

Time Synchronous Signals with Multiple R&S®SMBV100A Vector Signal Generators - 1GP84_0E

The synchonization of the instruments in based on a master-slave principle where one R&S®SMBV100A acts as a master and supplies all necessary synchronization signals to the other instruments (slaves).  The setup is simple, provides highly synchronized test signals and is ideal for certain GNSS test scenarios supporting up to 48 satellites.  View application note here

Hardware in the Loop (HIL) Testing with a GNSS Simulator - 1GP102

The Vector Signal Generator and GNSS Simulator R&S®SMBV100A is remote-controllable in realtime and can therefore be implemented into a dynamic HIL environment. Test of DME/TECAN Transponders - 1GP74

This application note describes the operating principle of DME (Distance Measurement Equipment) that is used for distance measurement in aviation.  It also describes various test scenarios for the maintenance of a DME transponder.  These tests require an R&S® SMA100A Signal Generator with a R&S® SMA-K26 DME modulation option and a R&S® NRP-Z81 Wideband Power Sensor.  View application note here
